One of the legends of Botev (Plovdiv) Lachezar Baltanov continued his career at the club as a playing assistant coach in the backup team. The midfielder played his last match for the first team against Arda when he was sent off to a standing ovation from the thousands in the stands at the “Hristo Botev” Stadium.
Baltanov became one of the most successful footballers in Botev’s modern history. In his career, the captain of the team played over 200 matches with the “yellow and black” team, lifting two Bulgarian Cups, one Super Cup of the country, and was part of the team that won the bronze medals in the championship in the 21/22 season.
