Samuel Akere underwent successful meniscus surgery

Samuel Akere underwent a successful operation on his meniscus. The Botev (Plovdiv) winger will be recovering for about 3 weeks.

The urgent surgical intervention was done in a metropolitan clinic and went according to plan. The footballer is expected to be available for Dušan Kerkez and the coaching staff for the start of summer training.

Akere was injured in the match against Arda at the beginning of May in the 1:2 loss in Kardzhali. The Nigerian started the match at Arena Arda, but was forced to be substituted in the first half.

During the season, Akere is among Botev’s players who participated in the most matches. The 20-year-old played 35 games in all competitions, scoring 6 times and providing 4 more assists. Akere was also an important contributor for the winning of the Bulgarian Cup, after he scored 2 goals and assisted 2 times in the first 3 matches of the tournament this season.
