Botev Plovdiv lost 0:2 to Ludogorets Razgrad in a match from the 5th round of the First League. The match was played at the “Hyvepharma Arena” in Razgrad.
The “Canaries” played a weak first half, in which only the good performances of Naumov saved them from falling further behind in the score. The “Yellow-Blacks” continued their terrible streak of 15 years without a win in Razgrad.
In the second minute, Tekpetei found himself in a shooting position after a blunder in Botev’s defense, but his shot was saved by Naumov. In the 4th minute, Samuel Kalu’s shot did not trouble the home team’s guard.
In the 7th minute, a strong shot by Salido hit the side post of Botev’s goal. In the 23rd minute, another excellent performance by Naumov kept the score level after a shot by Kamara.
Within 2 minutes, between 32 and 34, Ludogorets grabbed the victory. In the 32nd minute, Awany scored an own goal after a cross from Tekpetei, and 120 seconds later, Ruan Cruz won the individual duel with the defender and scored for 2:0.
At the very end of the first half, Daniel Naumov saved Botev from a sure goal. Ivaylo Chochev headed in a cross from the right, and only the goalkeeper’s excellent performance prevented a third goal.
After the break, the game was more even, with the “Canaries” having several opportunities to get back into the game. In the 53rd minute, an excellent chance opened up for Franklin Mascotte, who received a pass from Georgi Milanov, but failed to make a solid shot from a clear position.
In the 69th minute, Daniel Naumov blocked a dangerous shot by Tekpetey. In the 78th minute, Simeon Petrov was close to scoring, but his header went over the goal.
