Botev Plovdiv played a strong match and deservedly won 2:0 over Septemvri Sofia. The match was played in front of about 4,000 spectators at the Hristo Botev Stadium in Plovdiv.
The “Canaries” performed very solidly, controlling the entire 90 minutes on the perfect pitch. In the minutes before the first referee’s signal, both teams honored the memory of the legendary Georgi Velinov.
The match started with a great choreography from the Bultras, dedicated to the National Day of Bulgaria. In the first seconds, a dangerous shot by Emerson, who had a wonderful game, was saved by Yanko Georgiev.
The guests responded with an inaccurate header by Fourier in the 7th minute. In the 15th minute Soldo shot inaccurately, and in the 19th minute a tight shot by Nedelev was saved by Georgiev.
In the 23rd minute, Samuil Tsonov received a great pass from Nikolay Minkov, but from an excellent position he shot over the goal. In the 31st minute, Emerson made it difficult for Georgiev with a header, who cleared it.
In the 33rd minute, the active Samuil Tsonov fought for a high ball and headed it, but it was inches over the crossbar. In the minutes until the end of the first half, shots by Emerson and Nedelev were blocked by the visitors’ goalkeeper.
The methodical pressure of the “Canaries” continued after the break. In the 57th minute, a powerful shot by Nikola Soldo was saved by Yanko Georgiev.
This led to the 58th minute, in which the guests were put under pressure, Franklin Mascote took the ball and with a cool shot brought the stands to their feet – 1:0 for Botev.
4 minutes later, the “yellow-blacks” celebrated for the second time. Emerson Rodriguez demonstrated his high class and walked between the guests’ defense, then passed a thread to Pedro Igor, and the winger doubled the lead with a merciless shot – 2:0.
In the 73rd minute, Samuel Kalu shot inaccurately from a clear position. 3 minutes later, Emerson’s shot on the ground was blocked by the goalkeeper. Shortly before the end, Edni Ribeiro could have returned the intrigue, but shot inaccurately.
