Botev Plovdiv recorded its second victory in the control matches. The “Yellow-Blacks” prevailed 2:1 over Arda Kardzhali under the hot sun of the “Nikola Shterev – Starika” Football Complex.
The first 15 minutes offered no chances for the spectators, and in the 20th minute the “Canaries” opened the scoring. Nikola Iliev crossed from a corner and Carlos Algarra headed the ball into the net for 1:0.
In the 35th minute, Asen Chandarov made a dangerous header, and 2 minutes later Carlos Meotti from a clear position failed to trouble the goalkeeper.
Seconds later, Samuel Kalu made a wonderful raid, ending with an accurate shot. The guests responded with a dangerous shot into the near corner by Bachev, but Hristiyan Slavkov was careful and cleared it.
At half-time, Botev’s team made numerous substitutions. In the 48th minute, Birsent Karagaren shot from mid-range, and Slavkov saved again.
In the 56th minute, Pedro Igor overcame two defenders, but his shot into the far corner missed the goal. 2 minutes later, the guests received a penalty, which was converted by Birsent Karagaren.
In the 66th minute, Veliyan Vidolov shot dangerously from 20 meters wide. In the 84th minute, Nikolay Prangzhev saved a long-range shot.
In the 88th minute, Botev reached the second goal with a beautiful attack. Veliyan Vidolov passed to the right to Williams Chimezi, who crossed and Dimitar Tonev followed with a heel, and at the back post Ifena Dorgu scored for 2:1.
