Botev Plovdiv managed to retain one of its most classy players. Samuel Kalu has signed a new contract with the “Canaries” until 2029.
From his first minutes in the “yellow and black” shirt, Kalu has demonstrated his high class. So far, the attacking footballer has played 26 matches with the Plovdiv team.
The 28-year-old has also played for Bordeaux, Gent, Watford, Trencin and Lausanne in his illustrious career. He has 17 caps and 2 goals for the Nigerian national team, where he plays alongside Victor Osimhen, Alex Iwobi and Samuel Chukwueze.
After the end of the first half of the season, a number of teams showed interest in signing Kalu, and after the end of the 2025/26 season, the desire to attract the player intensified.
Despite this, Samuel Kalu categorically decided to stay at Botev Plovdiv and delight the yellow-black audience with his performances at the Hristo Botev Stadium.
