Botev Plovdiv won 4:0 over Spartak Pleven in a match from the 1/16 finals of the Bulgarian Cup. The match was played at the city stadium in Pleven.
Before the first referee’s signal, both teams paid tribute to the deceased fan of the Plovdiv club Georgi Iliev – Chonika. The “Yellow-Blacks” controlled the match throughout the entire 90 minutes and deservedly continue in the next round of the tournament.
In the 9th minute, the “Canaries” received a penalty for a foul on Samuel Kalu. Nikola Iliev stood behind the ball, who left no chance for the goalkeeper – 1:0.
In the 26th minute, Kalu hit the side post. In the 39th minute, Nikola Iliev passed to Samuel Kalu, who demonstrated his high class and shot into the far corner to make it 2:0.
The second half started beautifully for Plovdiv. In the 49th minute, Andrey Yordanov crossed from a free kick, Nikola Soldo rose to the far post and headed the ball to make it 3:0.
2 minutes later, Franklin Maskote hit the post in turn. In the 74th minute, Tailson found Dimitar Mitkov in the penalty area, and the striker scored from close range.
