Botev FC recorded its first victory during its preparatory camp in the Turkish resort of Belek. The “yellow-black” players prevailed with 1:0 over the Danish Vejle Boldklub in their third friendly match on Turkish soil.
The last addition to the team – the goalkeeper Matvei Igonen – made an unofficial debut for the “Canaries”. The Estonian played a full 90 minutes and distinguished himself with several good interventions in the match.
In the 35th minute, after a corner by Krasian Kolev, the ball hit Dylan Mertens’ head. He found Ivailov Videv and the club’s youngster scored after a well-measured shot.
In the second 45 minutes, the Danes took the initiative in the match. Twice their goals were canceled out after being called offside. Botev FC dominated the ball possession but did not follow through with more dangerous situations in front of the Vejle goal.
This was the first victory for our team in our southern neighbor. The next friendly match is on February 1 against Russian Rubin (Kazan).
