Botev Plovdiv completed its summer training with a convincing success. The “Canaries” prevailed 4:0 over Beroe Stara Zagora at the “Hristo Botev” Stadium.
Before the start of the friendly match, over 2,000 supporters congratulated the players from the representative team and the coaching staff of the “yellow-blacks”.
Plovdiv’s players totally dominated against “Zaralii” and deservedly congratulated themselves with the convincing success. Veliyan Vidolov recorded another strong match for Botev, and Chidera Okoh scored his debut goal.
There were no clear scoring chances in the first minutes. In the 15th minute, Veliyan Vidolov made a wonderful pass to Bryan-Anthony Hein, who coolly struck the ball into the far corner to make it 1:0.
3 minutes later, Franklin Mascotte missed a great shot from close range. The guests responded with an inaccurate shot, and in the 39th minute, an excellent raid by Vidolov ended with an inaccurate shot.
The second half started with a dangerous shot by Dimitar Tonev that went wide of the goal. In the 57th minute, Samuel Kalu brought the crowd to their feet with a technical shot from mid-range that left no chance for the goalkeeper – 2:0.
After less than 120 seconds, Dimitar Tonev also added his name to the scorers with another beautiful goal, and the assist was on the account of Samuel Kalu.
In the 61st minute, Nikola Iliev, who successfully came off the bench, shook the crossbar with a solid shot from several meters. In the 76th minute, Bogdan Kostov broke through from the right and found Chidera Okoh, who shot wide from the move.
6 minutes later, Edson Silva rushed down the right flank and found Chidera Okoh, and the Nigerian striker scored with a precise shot to make it 4:0.
On July 20, Botev Plovdiv starts the new season by hosting Lokomotiv Sofia.
