The offensive player of Botev (Plovdiv), Nikola Iliev, has received a call-up for the European qualifier of Bulgaria’s U21 national team against Poland. The match, part of Alexander Dimitrov’s selection, will take place on September 10 at 19:00 at the Slavia Stadium in Sofia.
So far, Iliev has participated in all seven matches of Group D in the qualifiers for the 2025 European Championship in Slovenia, starting in six of them. He managed to score in the home games against Israel and Germany. Bulgaria is currently in third place in the group with 12 points, while their next opponent, Poland, is in second place with 15 points.
Since returning to Botev this summer, Iliev has played a total of four matches for the “yellow-black” team in all tournaments, scoring two goals—against Maribor and Lokomotiv (Plovdiv).
