The head coach of the team spoke to the media after Botev lost 2:1 against Krumovgrad.
Here is what Dušan Kerkez said after the match:
“We are disappointed with the loss. We wanted to start well; we knew Krumovgrad is strong in transition play, but that’s football. We didn’t score our chances, if we had – the result would have been different,” began Dušan Kerkez.
“Now, it’s easy for people to talk, but we have our goal, and we have to be united around it. At the end of the season, we will all celebrate together. As long as I’m here, whether for 1 day or 6 months, I won’t let anyone influence what is happening in the locker room. The situation in Botev is not good for everyone. We must be united because we all love Botev,” Kerkez said.
“Georgi Nikolov did his job. He feels pressure, but it is not easy to play for a club like Botev. He and Martin Sekulic are training together, fighting for the same position. Football is for men, not for boys, our players need to grow up mentally,” concluded our coach.
