Dusan Kerkez signed a new 2-year contract with Botev (Plovdiv) and will stay at the club until 2026. The coach, who led the team to the Bulgarian Cup, officially signed the new agreement in the company of the sports director Artur Platek.
In addition to a new contract for Kerkez, all assistants in the staff – Aleksandar Petrovic, Ilijan Gerenski, Rafael Ferreira, Milovan Sikimic and Igor Delibasic – also signed contracts. Goalkeeper coach Dilyan Iliev, conditioning coach Todor Georgiev and Sarjan Prodanovic also remain part of the staff, as they have active contracts with the club from before.
Kerkez and his team led Botev to the historic 4th Bulgarian Cup. By winning the trophy the “canaries” also guaranteed their participation in Europe, as they will start in the first qualifying round of the Europa League in July. Dušan Kerkez became the only foreign coach who has led Botev to win a trophy.
