Dušan Kerkez after the defeat by Dynamo Moscow

Botev’s coach Dušan Kerkez was satisfied with the overall performance of the “canaries” in the last control match in our southern neighbour Turkey against the Russian Dynamo (Moscow).

Here is what Dušan Kerkez said immediately after the match:

“We played a pretty good game. We made some mistakes that cost us goals, but that’s normal – last day of training, very young guys on the pitch.”

“I am happy with our camp in Turkey. Everything went as we planned. The boys were extremely professional in all of the trainings and matches. Tomorrow we go back to Bulgaria. We will have two days off to recover, then we continue to prepare for the resumption of the championship.”

“Our goals in the spring will be to win the Cup of Bulgaria and to qualify for the European club tournaments. We have to look game by game. First of all, we have a game for the championship ahead of us.”

Regarding incoming and outgoing transfers, Dušan Kerkez stated:

“Siriky Diabate will sign a contract with us. During the training he proved that he deserves to be a Botev player. The owner and the sporting director are making great efforts to attract new players, but in the winter this is more difficult. The transfer window is always dynamic and we have to adapt to it. We believe that we will be able to strengthen ourselves with more new players.

I was also pleasantly surprised by the players of Vista, who were on tryouts with us. Christian Nvatchukvu and John Emmanuel will sign contracts with us. I am extremely pleased with them. We believe in their qualities and are convinced that they will help the team achieve its goals.”
