The team of Botev (Plovdiv) took only one point after this round. Dusan Kerkez’s players ended in a goalless draw against the team of Cherno More.
The match from the 26th round of the First League was played at the “Hristo Botev” stadium. The match offered a lot of one-on-ones, tackles and dynamic situations in front of both goals.
The Botevists started the match aggressively. Already in the 9th minute, Samuel Akere sent a wonderful pass to Mohamed Brahimi, who was on the left of the goal, entered the penalty area and shot, but the goalkeeper of the “sailors” intervened and reflected.
In the 20th minute of the match, a controversial situation was reached – the players in “yellow and black” had claims for an 11-meter penalty kick for a violation of Vlatko Drobarov against Mohamed Brahimi, but the head referee Valentin Zhelezov did not mark a foul in our favour. In the 25th minute, Cherno More’s Ismail Isa overcame Atanas Chernev and entered the penalty area, but his shot missed the outline of Hidayet Hankic’s goal.
The second 45 minutes started stronger for Iliyan Iliev’s team, who managed to create several clear chances to score. Both teams slowed down the tempo and began to play more defensively, with the battle being fought mainly in the middle of the pitch.
In the 71st minute, the captain of our team, Ivelin Popov was given a good pass in front of the opposition’s goal, but Ivan Dyulgerov intervened again on the spot. In the closing minutes of the match, Antonio Perera received a yellow card, which was the ninth for the Spaniard, and so our midfielder will miss the next two matches of – against Beroe and CSKA 1948. James Eto’o also received a yellow card thus he will miss the next match of the “Canaries” .
By the end of the match, there were no more dangers in front of either goal, and so the match ended without a winner.
Already on Thursday, Botev will face Beroe. The match is on April 4 (Thursday) at 17:00. at the “Beroe” stadium in the city of Stara Zagora.
