Botev Plovdiv suffered a painful 0:5 loss to Arda Kardzhali in a match from the 3rd round of the First League.
Despite the negative result, the “yellow-black” fans did not stop supporting the team throughout the entire 90 minutes and created a great atmosphere at the Hristo Botev Stadium.
In the first minutes, the match was equal, and the only position opened up for Ivelin Popov, who did not hinder Gospodinov with an acrobatic strike.
The key situation came in the 26th minute, when Andrey Yordanov was sent off with a non-existent red card, given by Dragomir Draganov under the strong influence of VAR referee Wasimir El-Khatib.
The numerous television replays never convinced of the correctness of the decision, which largely determined the final outcome of the match.
A minute after the fabricated red card, the guests opened the scoring from a foul by Dimitar Velkovski, and by the end of the first half, Antonio Vutov doubled the score.
In the 57th minute, Ivelin Popov was sent off with a straight red card. In the 68th minute, David Akintola scored for 3:0, in the 86th minute, Isnaba Mane scored for 4:0, and shortly before the end, the team from Kardzhali scored a fifth goal.
