Botev Plovdiv lost 1:3 to Botev Vratsa in a match from the 26th round of the First League. The match was played in front of about 6,000 spectators at the “Hristo Botev” stadium in Plovdiv.
The “Yellow-Blacks” received solid support from the stands, but were unable to please the fans with success.
In the 5th minute, a dangerous shot by Gayekos went wide of Naumov’s goal. In the 19th minute, Nedelev found Edson Silva and the midfielder pierced the goalkeeper for 1:0.
Just 5 minutes later, the guests equalized after Martin Petkov headed the ball into the net for 1:1. In the 28th minute, a dangerous shot by Mascotte missed the target.
In the 37th minute, Plovdiv was close to a second goal, but from an excellent position, Franklin Mascotte shot into the goalkeeper’s body. In the 41st minute, Naumov saved a sure goal after a header by Petkov.
The second half started with another save by Daniel Naumov, coming after a shot by Yurukov. In the 52nd minute, Edson’s header was cleared by Orlinov.
In the 63rd minute, the Vratsa team reached a second goal. Martin Smolenski was brought face to face with Naumov and scored for 1:2. The goal was initially disallowed due to offside, but after a long look at the VAR system, it was recognized.
This goal caused chaos in the game for Plovdiv, who were never able to exert pressure. In the 71st minute, Gallegos hit the crossbar, and in the 80th minute, Sanyang shaped the final result.
