Botev (Plovdiv) lost 0:2 in their second control match on Turkish soil. Dusan Kerkez’s players failed to challenge the leader in the temporary standings of the Hungarian championship – Paksi FC
At the beginning of the match, the Hungarians took the initiative, but gradually the “yellow-black” equalized the forces and possessed the ball for a long time. Both teams had several good attacks, but no decisive shots were made. By the end of the first 45 minutes, the game was tied. The Botevists utilized both flanks to break the defence of the opponent, but adequate performances by Paksi FC players prevented dangerous situations in their penalty area.
The head coach made a bunch of changes at the break, giving almost all reserve players from the bench a chance.
The second half started horribly for the “Canaries”. Paksi FC players managed to realize two quick goals thanks to Daniel Bode. He scored in the 49th and 51st minutes of the match.
By the end of the match, both teams had several good chances, but they failed to convert. For the “yellow-black” there were good opportunities in front of the new addition Georgi Nikolov.
Botev’s next control meeting is scheduled for January 28 at 16:30 against the composition of Vejle Boldklub
